Biogas & Anaerobic Digestion

Video production for biogas and anaerobic digestion businesses across the UK and Europe, filmed on working sites rather than reconstructed for camera.

Constructioncrew, How Biogas Works

01Sector context

What buying looks like in this sector

Biogas is a technical sell. An anaerobic digestion plant is a serious piece of infrastructure: feedstock handling, digesters, upgrading to biomethane, grid injection or CHP. Almost none of it is legible to the people who fund it, permit it or live next to it.

The audience is never one group. Developers, operators, investors, EPC contractors, landowners and local communities all need the same project explained, and each needs it explained differently.

We have filmed on operating biogas sites, following real construction work as it happened rather than staging it afterwards. That is the part most production companies cannot offer, because it means being on site while the work is going on.

Europe is the centre of this industry. Biomethane is now produced in twenty-five European countries, Germany is the largest single market, and the UK has a substantial domestic sector of its own. A developer here is competing in a market that is growing and crowded at once, and in front of an audience that frequently works across borders.

02Common challenges

  • Explaining anaerobic digestion to funders, planners and neighbours who are not engineers, without flattening the technical detail that makes a project credible.
  • Capturing a plant at its best when the work worth seeing, from groundworks through digester build to commissioning, unfolds over months rather than in a single visit.
  • Answering what communities actually worry about, which is usually odour, traffic and land use, long before a planning decision.
  • Standing out in a sector where feedstock supply, offtake and grid connection have historically been decided through a small network of relationships.

03How Seven Media helps

On-site filming across the build, from groundworks through to commissioning, so a finished plant has a record of how it got there rather than one set of photographs at the end.

Episodic content that follows the process end to end, from feedstock in to biomethane and digestate out, pitched at a commercial audience without talking down to a technical one.

Interviews with the engineers and operators doing the work, which carry far more weight in this sector than a capability statement does.

Photography and short-form cutdowns from the same visit, for investor updates, recruitment and the channels where a project is actually seen.
